Like apple pie? You bet! Almost everyone loves tasty and savory apple pie. What is better than homemade apple pie? Not a lot of things. This is a dessert that serves you year around and always popular course.
Apple Pie Ingredients
A. For crust: 2 cups all-purpose flour, 1 teaspoon salt, 1 cup shortening, 4-6 tbsp cold water
B. For filling: 1/2 cup sugar, 1/4 cup all-purpose flour, 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon, 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg, 1/8 tsp salt, 8 peeled and cored apples, thinly sliced.
Notes
☆There should be 1-2 inches extra crust beyond the bottom of the pie plate. You can hold the pie plate over the crust rolled out and eye it.
☆Cover the edge with foil to prevent excessive browning when baking.
☆Make 2-inch long slits (or the little air-permeable patterns) on top crust to allow steam to escape when baking.
☆For extra flavors, you can garnish top crust with nuts, gummies, etc.
☆The apple pie can be other shapes, not only round as you preferred.
